learning our way

We had our second (and I guess, last) night of pre-marital counseling last night. Ryan and I talked with Pastor Greg about our families of origin, and what we want our own family to be like. It was interesting to learn that although our families are very different, our intrinsic value systems are very similar. This whole process has been really interesting and valuable and I’m glad that we “had” to do it.

The ceremony is coming together; we just need to meet with the organist and pick out some hymns, and choose the verses we want to have read. We’re doing the liturgy from the Life Passages segment of the ELCA’s Renewing Worship series, and I think the words are worshipful, modern, and beautiful. I can’t wait! The actual ceremony is the payoff for all of the planning headaches… I’m really looking forward to it.
