Apparently Katie Couric’s promotional photo for CBS News wasn’t up to standards for their own in-house promotional magazine, so someone in the oh-so-helpful photo department helped her out with a little digital magic.
Media Bistro notes:
A CBS spokesman said “the editorial staff of Watch magazine retouched the photo without the knowledge of Katie Couric or CBS news management.” But the staff consists of “CBS’ own communications department,” John Higgins notes. (Executive VP of communications Gil Schwartz is listed as editor in chief.)
I’m not a huge Katie Couric fan (get it? huge?) but I do give her props for saying that she liked the original photo better because there’s “more of her to love.” Is that a promise or a threat? Just kidding, Couric.
