St. Arnold goes to Austin

Hey Y’all… and I mean Y’all, the beer lovers of Texas! Especially All Y’all who love good beer… I’m looking at you, Ryan and Lucas and Gary and John and…

Anyway… if you haven’t checked out the St. Arnold Goes To Austin blog, do so! Brock Wagner, the founder of the St. Arnold Brewery in Houston, is launching a grassroots effort to allow microbrewers to sell up to 5,000 barrels of beer directly to the public.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage code only allows microbrewers to sell to distributors but not directly to the public. The new code seems to be similar to Proposition 11, which was voted in back in 2003 to allow the same for Texas wineries.

I bet Kinky would have made this a priority…
